On November 22, 1982, my mother, Karen Lee Larkie Tilghman, was stabbed to death in our Newport News home by my foster brother, while my sister and I were on the other side of the door. This is the only memory I have of my mother. I want to know the woman who gave her life to protect mine... through the eyes of those that loved her.
